Born in Chicago, IL, Ezra J Wayland is a multidisciplinary artist working mainly in film and performance art. Wayland is most known for his performance work as Zeena Karina and as a member of the radical drag troupe The Tarp Queens, who hosted shows like SPUNK and Drag Socialists of America in Tucson, AZ from 2022-2025. The Tarp Queens are the subjects of the 2023 short doc UTTERLY REVOLTING, and were invited by Peaches Christ to perform for John Waters in the 2024 Mosswood Meltdown drag competition in Oakland, CA. In all of his art, Wayland combines his love for transsexuality, anticapitalism, the abject, witchcraft, and the interconnectivity of life on earth.
