Double Mastectomy (2026)
“DOUBLE MASTECTOMY” is a short video work produced in July, 2026 for the Desert Rat Cinema Ratical Film Challenge, in which local filmmakers were challenged to create a work under 2 minutes in length, creating “what we have never seen.” The video features drag performer and frequent collaborator, Emmett “Shmekl” Stone (Chava Dreypuss) in fragmented close-ups wearing a realistic breastplate prosthetic. Projected behind him are photos and videos of his breasts pre-op. As his chest is prepped for surgery, Stone struggles out of his silicone breasts to reveal his hairy, glittery, chest and top surgery scars. “DOUBLE MASTECTOMY” is not currently available to stream.
Pissy Pussy (2026)
“Pissy Pussy” is a microshort produced for Desert Rat Cinema, described as a “transgender toilet traumadump.”
The video is a collage of new and old clips of bathrooms with a voiceover narration detailing two formative urinary traumas that are divorced from the present-day trauma invoked by Wayland’s presence/absence in men’s bathrooms as a transsexual.
A Shonda (TBA)
“A Shonda” is a short ritual art film filmed in the holy days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Wayland and collaborator Emmett “Shmekl” Stone commune with the dead, reimagine gendered cultural practices, and attempt to atone for the sins committed in their name. “A Shonda” is currently in production and will be released later in 2026.
Tucking Franny (2027)
Tucking Franny is an upcoming no-budget narrative film about two broke trans jews in the days following their eviction notice. Tucking Franny is a tragicomedy born out of intense collaboration between Wayland and his actors, inspired by their mutual instability and struggle.
